Wallpaper is back in a big way and has been for quite a while now, but in true budget-conscious fashion, I love the idea of swapping expensive wallpaper for a mural/accent wall. Even if you don’t think you can draw or paint, I am convinced that anyone can create a mural. You just need a bit of time and a lot of patience. A mural is such a beautiful and non-committal way to make a statement in a room You can go elaborate with a painted design or you can keep it simple with a sharpie. The sky is the limit.
If you’ve seen my instagram feed, you might have seen the boob wall that I drew with a sharpie in my dressing room. It was inspired by wallpaper in a sweet little clothing shop and it was designed by artist Lindsay Vautour.
But now, it’s time to step it up and paint a mural somewhere else in the house. I’m thinking the dining room would be a good place to add a fun accent wall. For now, here’s a round up of ideas from around the web for a little inspiration.
